·        OLVCS Middle States Association Accreditation OLVCS has received approval for our Sixth Year Progress Report for our accreditation by the Middle States Association (MSA.) In 2000-2001 school year, OLVCS received initial accreditation and since then submitted Third & Sixth Year Progress reports.  In the review of this most recent report (October, ’07) the MSA congratulates the school for the significant progress made on the goals of aligning the Language Arts curriculum in grades Kindergarten through eight and successfully implementing a new Mathematics textbook series in grades Kindergarten through five.  MSA also offers “congratulations to Our Lady of Victory Catholic School for providing an environment in which students are prepared to be caring, productive citizens and life long learners.  The faculty is to be commended for their professionalism and commitment to academic excellence. Especially praise worthy is the continual modification of instructional strategies to meet individual needs of the student.” In addition to the school’s academic endeavors, MSA “commends the school for the wide variety of curricular and extracurricular activities available to the student to develop talents and interests.”

The 6th Year Progress Report also outlines goals for the next three years.  These goals are:

A.) increased efforts in marketing, including redesigning our website, developing a Growing into Kindergarten program to encourage parents to enroll Kindergarten age children from our preschool, direct marketing to all Catholic families with five year old children, publication of an updated brochure, and increased publicity for significant school events.

B.) development of a Summer Reading Program. Beginning in summer 2007 a suggested book list was offered to the students for summer reading.

C.) evaluation and adoption of new Social Studies materials and textbooks for grades Kindergarten through grade six.

D.) investigating options for renovating/refurbishing the heating system

The OLV School Council, the administration, faculty and staff will be working toward these goals over the next one to three years.
